Courage.
Hope.
Faith.
Perseverance.
Every once in a while, a transformation comes across the wire here at Fitness Edge Radio that makes us stop and appreciate the fact that there are people out there that by all rights, have every reason to give up...but somehow overcome incredible odds and succeed.

Opportunities come disguised as challenges in many forms and no two stories are the same. The one thing that all of our featured champions have in common is courage. Courage to allow themselves to believe it's possible, courage to start and the courage to persevere when adversity strikes.
This week, I'm proud to share Alicia Sweet's accomplishments. Alicia has been in a dark and dangerous place where the line between perception and reality gets blurred. To do what she's done is nothing short of superhuman. Her resiliency in overcoming a disease so dangerous that many are afraid to...

This week, our story comes from the next state over...Ohio. Good friend of local CrossFit Fruition owner, Dan Dirkx, this woman has lost over 130 pounds since beginning her journey 2 years ago. I saw Sarah...

In 2007 Christy Fell reached her highest weight ever, 206 pounds. 206 on a 5'2" frame, she wore a size 22 / 1X in women's clothing. Having given birth to her second child in 2005 and gaining 85 pounds during pregnancy, then struggling to take it off, she thought she was destined to be fat and began to resign herself to fact that she would never be skinny again. “When I went in for a physical in 2007 my doctor told me I was morbidly obese and borderline diabetic. Jennifer Dietrich is our featured success story this week. Jen has overcome many personal obstacles to achieve an incredible physical transformation. Not unlike many others that have been featured on this page, Jennifer's transformation has gone beyond the pounds she has lost, it has empowered her and given her a platform to share her thoughts and feelings about the real meaning of life, or as she puts it, "Spreading the love!"

Whenever possible, these stories are best told by the ones who accomplish them...here's Jennifer to tell you the rest.

"My story in a nutshell - I...

As difficult as it is for us more 'mature' people to find a starting point to effect the change in established habits to get in shape, sometimes after years of neglect and abuse of our health...I can't help but think the younger people among us have a much harder job. Becoming an adult with the accompanying search for identity, while living under other's rules and not always having access to the information and motivation to change, complicated by the cruelty of peer pressure, bullying and...

In case you missed this on my personal page yesterday...
I hope you all look forward to Transformation Tuesday as much as I do here at Fitness Edge Radio. Sponsored by our friends at LaSalon Bianca and Massage Envy Spa, each week we feature a special person who has made a decision in life to take the steps necessary to improve their health, quality of life, outlook, attitude, habits and lastly, appearance. This week's featured transformation story is nothing short of heroic. Let's face it, many of us in the fitness business come into it by way of starting out in good shape or a jock...

It's Transformation Tuesday on Fitness Edge Radio, sponsored by LaSalon Bianca and Massage Envy Spa, and we have yet another success story from Team Charlene over in Victor, training out of IronWorx Gym. Lindsay Thompson is our featured transformer this week and here’s how she accomplished her goals.

In her 20’s Lindsay had lost 60 pounds on her own, but admittedly, she had a challenge maintaining her weight, yo-yoing along the way. In August of 2013, Lindsay met her current boyfriend, and as will happen, they...
